Outstanding!

Black Forest Gateau is my all time favourite cake and when I saw this gin I immediately purchased it, not entirely believing it could deliver. How wrong I was!

This is an absolutely stunning gin which captures all the flavours of Black Forest Gateau but without being sweet or synthetic. Cacao hits you first, followed by a hint of cherry, a dash of vanilla, and then back to dark chocolate. It is pure wizardry and utterly delectable.

You could have a lot of fun with this gin in cocktails but it also makes a perfect dessert drink when you want a hit of dessert but are too full to eat another morsel. Drinking it neat over ice as a digestif is also a brilliant option.

My one word of advice is to not add too much tonic and use a premium Indian tonic like Fever Tree to compliment, not dominate. Either go with Nelson's 1:1 ratio or do what we did - 1 shot of gin to half a shot of tonic with a slice of lime. This will give you a flavour explosion and will ensure you don't wash away all those carefully crafted flavours and nuances.

I honestly can't recommend this gin highly enough - my friends loved it so much they are buying a bottle each too!
