Sip the Season's Magic with Roy Wood's Christmas Cheer Gin: A Festive Delight Awaited

Nelson’s Distillery & School announce new celebrity partnership.
The Staffordshire based craft distillery has linked up with Mr. Christmas himself – Dr. Roy Wood to create an exceptional new product.

Nelson’s Distillery & School known for its celebrity collaborations having recently worked with two-star Michelin Chef - Michel Roux Jr. has pulled off another cracker teaming up with Wizard frontman, Dr. Roy Wood to produce a gin that really packs a punch.

A local celebrity around Staffordshire & Derbyshire, Roy was approached by Neil Harrison – Nelson’s founder and Master Distiller to produce his very own craft spirit.

Dr. Wood was invited to attend Nelson’s Gin & Vodka School at Uttoxeter to experience its 5 Star rated distilling experience. Here he handpicked his unique festive recipe that will be distilled in Nelson’s custom-built still; Victory for a one off production.

The unconventional Christmas spirit boasts a distinctive black bottle and gothic-style label. More befitting to Halloween than Christmas, this festive spirit most certainly stands out from the crowd.

Christmas Cheer is a merry mix of festive flavours. Expect deep powerful hits of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves sweetened with Madagascan vanilla then lightened with a touch of rose. At 57% ABV the heightened alcohol perfectly marries with the intense flavours offering a gin that is well-rounded and incredibly delicious.

Roy said:

“I was surprised to be invited to create my own gin by Nelsons. They even agreed to allow me to design my own label.

A few years ago, I had the honour of performing a concert for the SAS, and discovered that their tipple of choice had always been 57% Navy Strength Gin. So we thought that it would only be correct, to follow their guidance, and make our Christmas Cheer gin at 57% ABV.

I had an interesting day at Nelsons Distillery, and was intrigued by the amount of ingredients that can be included and mixed with the final brew. Because it has Christmas Cheer printed on the label, we thought that it would be a good idea to create the festive taste of all of the things we associate with Christmas.

We hope that you like it.”

- Roy Wood.

Christmas Cheer is available to purchase from the 8th November in celebration of Roy’s birthday and of course the upcoming festive season.
