Christmas Cheer Gin by Dr. Roy Wood

Nelson’s Distillery & School announces another celebrity partnership.
The Staffordshire-based craft distillery has linked up with Mr. Christmas himself,
Dr. Roy Wood, to create an exceptionally jolly, new spirit.

Known for its celebrity collaborations, Nelson’s has recently worked with two-star Michelin Chef Michel Roux Jr. And for this November, has managed to pull off yet another cracker! Now teamed up with Wizzard frontman, Dr. Roy Wood, the distillery has produced a holiday gin that truly packs a party punch.

Christmas Cheer is a merry mix of festive flavours – deep powerful hits of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves sweetened with Madagascan vanilla then lightened with a touch of rose. At 57% ABV, the heightened alcohol perfectly marries with the intense flavours, offering a gin that is well-rounded and incredibly delicious.

Local Staffordshire & Derbyshire celebrity Roy was approached by Neil Harrison, Nelson’s founder and Master Distiller, to produce his very own craft spirit just in time for the season of giving.

Dr. Wood attended Nelson’s Gin & Vodka School at Uttoxeter to experience its 5-Star rated distilling experience, where he handpicked and formulated his original recipe. This was then distilled in Nelson’s custom-built still, Victory, for an exciting one-off production.

"I was wonderfully surprised to be invited to create my very own gin by Nelson's. They even allowed me the creative freedom to design its label. A few years ago, I had the honour of performing a concert for the SAS and discovered that their tipple of choice had always been the 57% ABV Nelson's Navy Strength Gin. So we thought that it would only be apt, to follow their guidance, and make our Christmas Cheer gin at 57% ABV as well! I had an interesting day at Nelson's Distillery, and was absolutely intrigued by the wide variety of ingredients that could be included and mixed into the final blend. And because we have named it Christmas Cheer, we saw it best fit to perfectly capture and combine the different festive flavours of all things Christmas into a bottle. We truly hope that you all enjoy it, and toast to the holidays, nearly as much as we do."
